Customer Complaints Season 3 E12

Customer Complaints Season 3 E12

Another drop in the books, another pile of customer cars that tell stories nobody asked for. If you're tuned into the "Customer Complaints" series, you know we don't sugarcoat it. We read the notes, poke around, test drive the chaos, and call it like we see it. Episode 12 keeps the formula strong, clocking in with plenty of shop therapy and mechanical roasting.

We kicked off with a 2014 Kia Optima EX that proves why you should listen the first time. The customer returned with significant suspension damage, which was exactly what we warned them about a while ago. We had previously recommended replacing the coils and addressing several growing issues, but the advice was ignored. Now, the car is back with even more failure. Pro tip. Maintenance isn't a suggestion. It is the only thing keeping your car from becoming a paperweight.

Then we rolled out with a 2016 Honda Civic SI that came in with a mysterious clunking noise. After a bit of investigating and some shop humor, we identified the culprit. Let’s just say the suspension gave up the ghost after a larger than average friend spent a bit too much time in the passenger seat. It’s one thing to have a heavy foot, but it is another thing when your social life starts costing you control arms.

Next up was a 2024 Toyota Corolla LE for a post purchase inspection that turned into a nightmare. The owner was worried about uneven carpet, a leaking windshield, and some weird lines in the paint. We put it on the lift and confirmed their gut feeling. This new car had been crashed and put back together with what looked like glue and hope. The repair quality was so poor it was almost impressive. If you are buying a car, do the inspection before you sign the papers, not after.

We also caught a glimpse of the future with a 2026 Toyota Camry. We were just trying to do a simple dash cam installation, but the build quality had us scratching our heads. When the interior panels feel like they are made of recycled soda bottles, you know the manufacturer is cutting corners. It is getting harder and harder to call these things reliable when they feel like they are falling apart before they even hit their first oil change.

The closer. A 2020 Toyota Tacoma SR with a steering wheel that shakes like a leaf every time the owner hits the brakes. We gave the standard, correct recommendation of new pads and rotors to fix the warping. The customer initially denied the service, leading to that classic shop debate. Why pay us for an inspection if you aren't going to listen to the professional recommendation? Eventually, reality set in. Shaking wheels do not fix themselves.

We wrapped up with a reminder that your mechanic isn't just trying to upsell you. We are trying to keep you from ending up in a ditch.

Closing quote for the week. "why do people notice the attitude of towards them have changed? It's cuz your behavior has made me change their attitude." [Behave yourselves and people will be nice :)]

Full episode is up on the channel. Catch the shenanigans before the next one lands.

Revolutionizing the Way You Drive. One inspection, One roast, One "you need a new car" at a time.
