Another drop in the books, another pile of customer cars that tell stories nobody asked for. If you're tuned into the "Customer Complaints" series, you know we don't sugarcoat it. We read the notes, poke around, test drive the chaos, and call it like we see it. This episode keeps the formula strong, bringing plenty of shop therapy and mechanical roasting.
We kicked off with a follow up on the now infamous Killer Optima. This is the Kia that managed to completely lose a wheel after the driver reportedly swerved to dodge an animal. We got it back on the lift to survey the path of destruction and actually found remnants of the animal, likely a cat, trapped underneath the chassis. It turns out the animal wasn't dodged after all, and the undercarriage paid a heavy price for the collision.

Then we spent a major portion of our day dealing with a 2019 Subaru Ascent Limited that arrived with an inspection report from another dealership. Let us just say that the dealership's recommendations were a total joke. They completely failed to identify critical safety issues like heavily worn out brake pads and visible tire damage. Instead, their big urgent upsell was recommending the customer replace four separate wiper blades (Yes, 4... On a car with 3 wiper blades). We call that prioritizing profits over stopping power.

Next up was a 2007 Scion tC that rolled into the shop smelling like a rolling campfire of burning oil. It didn't take much digging to find the culprit. We quickly identified a heavily leaking valve cover gasket that was actively dripping oil straight onto the accessory belts. If you let oil soak your belts for too long, they will stretch, slip, and eventually snap, turning a simple gasket replacement into a much bigger headache.

We wrapped things up with the usual shop shenanigans. The crew was in rare form, keeping the mood light while tackling some stubborn undercarriages. We even debuted a unique laying down inspection method, with techs literally flat on the floor just to get the perfect angle on some hidden suspension components. Hey, whatever it takes to find the truth.
Closing quote for the week. "Good Friends, good co-workers, good partners and good people make for great experiences. "
Full episode is up on the channel. Catch the shenanigans before the next one lands.
