Customer Complaints Season 3 E15

Customer Complaints Season 3 E15

Another drop in the books, another pile of customer cars that tell stories nobody asked for. If you're tuned into the "Customer Complaints" series, you know we don't sugarcoat it. We read the notes, poke around, test drive the chaos, and call it like we see it. Season 3, Episode 15 keeps the formula strong with 27 minutes of shop therapy and mechanical roasting.

We kicked off with a 2018 Chevy Camaro SS that was brought in for steering, suspension, and starting issues. What we found was a prime example of why you never buy an enthusiast car without a pre purchase inspection. This thing was absolutely neglected. Between the signs of heavy abuse, extreme tire wear, and a differential that looked potentially welded for takeovers, it was a total disaster. Buying a car like this without checking it first is just asking for a hole in your wallet.

Then we rolled out with a 2016 Subaru BRZ Series Hyper Blue. The owner reported alignment issues after a little disagreement with a curb. We put it up and found significant structural concerns. The suspension components were completely misaligned and we identified a potential subframe issue. Curbing a car might seem like a small mistake, but at the right angle, it can turn your frame into a pretzel.

Next up was a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT where the customer reported a skippy feeling while accelerating. It turns out the only thing skippy was the understanding of the dashboard. The team quickly realized the complaint was just the traction control light doing its job because the tires were in such poor condition. If your tires are bald, the car is going to struggle for grip. That is not a mechanical failure. That is a maintenance failure.

The highlight of the day was a transmission and clutch job that went south fast. We went in for a standard clutch replacement and discovered the transmission fluid was contaminated with massive metal shavings. That is the universal sign for catastrophic internal failure. When your gear oil looks like glitter, your transmission is essentially a very expensive paperweight.

The closer. A 2021 Acura ILX Base brought in for a general inspection. The owner was complaining about squeaking in the suspension and the passenger seat. We noted that the car looked like it had been modified or lowered previously, which usually explains why things start groaning and squeaking before they should.

We wrapped up with a reminder that your car is only as good as the person who owned it before you.

Closing quote for the week. "Memories are made, not with words. But, with expressions"

Full episode is up on the channel. Catch the shenanigans before the next one lands.

Revolutionizing the Way You Drive. One inspection, One roast, One "you need a new car" at a time.
